Community Service Chair, Darhyl Ramsey presented five checks to local organizations. Representatives made a short presentation regarding the group.
 
 
Spirithorse Therapeutic Center serves 400 children per week. Charles Fletcher, founder and CEO, gave several examples how children are helped by riding the horses.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Fred Moore Day Nursery School  provides low cost day care for children 6 weeks old to 5 yrs old. They currently have 76 enrolled and another 80 on the waiting list. The cost is based on a sliding scale calculated by income and number in the household.

Denton Police Summer Youth Program serves at-risk boys in middle school and high school. After the summer program, the officers continue working with the boys during the next school year. Monsignor Charles King Outreach Center is a temporary shelter for the homeless during inclement weather conditions. During the summer, the shelter is open when the temperature is over 100 degrees after 4 pm. During the winter, the shelter is open when the temperature drops below 30 degrees. The purpose of the shelter is to provide shelter from the extreme elements, a nourishing meal, a comfortable place to sleep, and of course fellowship and hospitality from generous volunteers.
 
 
Denton Food Bank receives approximately $1,200 each year through our weekly Red Hat collection.
