Congratulations to Kevin Christ and John Smears, past presidents of Denton-Lake Cities Rotary Club on receiving their latest Paul Harris pins! Kevin recieved his PHF+4 and +5 pins. John was recognized with a PHF+6 pin.

The Paul Harris Fellow Program was established by Rotary International in 1957 to show appreciation and recognize individuals who contribute, or have contributions made in their name, of $1,000 to the Rotary Foundation. Pins are awarded by The Rotary Foundation each time a community or club member donates an additional $1000.

Generous contributions to The Rotary Foundation are essential to securing and growing Rotary programs throughout the world such as PolioPlus, the Annual Fund, or an approved Foundation grant. Local Clubs such as ours can obtain matching grant funds from TRF to support local projects such as giving dictionaries to 3rd graders in Denton, Lake. Dallas, and Krum schools. Also, in past years our club has funded international projects with matching funds from The Rotary Foundation.

Rotary’s programs are developing the next generation of leaders, providing funding to make the world a better place, and making peace a priority. And our programs are not just for club members.
